State Convention

Anyone who was at the PETE club meeting last night heard about the convention. I was the only freshman that attended last year and stayed and went for the full stay. It was a blast. Yes its long its a Saturday Sunday thing but the days go quick, and you get so much free stuff :) You also meet many professors and people from different schools across the state. Last year was in Pittsburgh so it made things a lot easier. This year will be in Valley Forge which will be a 5 hour drive! I'm hoping to go and I encourage other Physical Education majors to go, and it looks really good on your resume!

  1. I am definately going to the convention this year! The reason I didn't go last year was becuase I still didnt really know anyone and I didn't want to room with upperclassmen that I didn't know! But that is awesome that you were the only freshman! I actually had my high school prom at the Valley Forge Convention Center, its huge! The Radisson is really nice too! Free stuff is definately a plus, but hopefully it will be a good place for networking. The drive down there isn't too bad! I hope we get a full bus laod!

  3. Daniel, I like your enthusiasm. I did not go last year but I am considering going this year. My friend Richard Morrison and I were discussing it briefly, and I feel like it could be a very educational trip, and well worth the long bus ride!

  4. Dan the convention sounds great but im still skeptical about it. I heard many good things, the only thing I am not looking forward to is the six hour bus ride on the weekend. I am definitely planning on attending it this year or next I just have not decided yet. What types of things did you end up doing during the day of the convention? Who did you listen to? What did you do?

  5. Yea I agree that it is for sure the way to go. It looks real good on your resume. This will be my third year going. It gives you a great chance to meet and network with other physical education teachers from the area. They give you a lot of good ideas for lessons as well. They give out free stuff to that maybe useful when you start teaching at a school. I recommend going if you can for sure.

  6. The State Convention sounds like something we had for Key Club in high school. They were a blast you got to stay in a hotel and just do your own thing. Sure, the days were a little long, but at the same time you need to remember what all you are getting out of it. It would be a great experience for everyone to go and I hope I get the opportunity this year.
